Fishing Holidays

Many of our visitors come to Warcombe for a fishing holiday. We are one of only a few North Devon camping parks to offer a private coarse fishing lake to our campers.

We established a coarse fishing lake at Warcombe in 1998 which offers great sport for all the family. The lake is well stocked with Carp, Tench, Roach and Rudd as well as Perch. The water occupies around an acre of land and provides a haven for wildlife.

Even if you are not a fisherman you can enjoy the beautiful vista, watching the amazing water birds that can be seen around the water. Heron, ducks, Snipe and Kingfishers are spotted regularly. We have some lovely lakeside pitches with their own gate access to the water where you can rest, picnic or get out your rods and cast out!

Stayed on this park in June, what a delight!!! Lovely staff, friendly, helpful and nothing too much trouble. Andy is a gem, take away is mainly home made food and excellent value as well as being delicious. Hygiene is first class.

The site itself was unbelievable. Spotlessly clean, fantastic shower block, very well organised.

Lake was an instant hit, everything was spot on. Been to other sites near to home but nothing compares to this. Loved it so much we are going back with our grandson in August. Very highly recommended - go here and you won't want to go anywhere else. Even the dog wants to go back, he loved the 15 acre dog walk - never had it so good.

Wonderful!

We have just returned from a week long stay in our tent at this wonderful campsite. We stayed here for the first time last year and enjoyed so much about the site and the area that we decided to return again this year.

There is a good variety of pitches here so there is something to suit everyone, although if you haven't been before we found the staff to be very helpful on the phone on choosing a pitch.

The showers and toilet facilities are very spacious and are kept very clean and tidy and the majority of guests help them to stay that way. The only small disappointment was that there were no electric sockets for hair appliances in the shower block (although there are travel size hair-dryers 20p).

The bin areas are regularly emptied so we didn't encounter any problems with wasps etc. The small but well stocked shop sells fresh baked goods every day (which were very tempting) as well as other groceries.

The campsite is in a great location for some lovely walks and is less than a mile away from the traffic free Tarka cycling trail as well as the huge sandy beach at Woolacombe.

There are some visiting food sellers on different nights too which we made use of. Having waited over an hour and a half for our order the pizzas were OK, however the fish and chips were really good.

Overall the site is very clean and well kept, very friendly, helpful staff who clearly all work very hard and we would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Keep up the great work!
