North Devon Walking Holidays

We are at the edge of the Exmoor National Park and it's many treasures, landmarks and fascinating places to visit.

Favourite Campsite

This is easily one of our favourite campsites as we always have a quiet and relaxed time when we camp here. The pitches are a good size with lots of lovely green space. The site is very well maintained and there is a well equipped play park that my children aged 7 and 10 really enjoy playing on. The facilities are very good in particular the family shower block offers huge shower rooms, ideal when you have young children to get showered.

The wardens are friendly and welcoming and always visible on the site. I've always found them very helpful and great with suggestions as to what's available locally.

Perhaps the best recommendation is that we camped on this site last summer, booked again this year and already plan to book again next summer.

Really Generous Pitches

Spent 9 days here in August when the weather was mainly windy and raining. The staff were really friendly and helpful - after showing us to our pitch, they put chippings down to soak up some of the rain and mud. The pitches were really generous and the strategic planting of trees made you feel like you also had some privacy.

The shower/toilet block was lovely and warm with piping hot showers. The shower cubicles were also quite spacious which is great if you've also got young children. There was also a shelving unit, chair and a bin - again very useful. They were always clean too.

The site is ideally situated for getting to other places such as Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Exmoor etc. We tended to drive to where we were going and then walk as didn't really like to walk down the narrow roads - especially with the children.

When we go back to Devon, I would definitely visit this site again.
