A great site, with helpful and friendly staff and your shown to your pitch. A good selection of pitches Large, small, open or secluded should suit all manner of campers.
The showers/toilet facilities are ample and are kept immaculate.
There is an excellent 14 acre dog exercise area which reminded me of a mini golf course with a mown fairway.
Can't offer comments with regards the food offered at Captain hook's shack as we didn't use it. TV reception was not brilliant with mainly Welsh channels giving the best reception... Mind you watching England's football performance I'll say no more!
All in all a very nice site Would I use it again? definitely, yes!
Bank Holiday Camping
We visited Warcombe Farm during the August bank holiday weekend. 4 adults and 2 children (5 and 2.5) spread over two large pitches (10.5m x 11.5m) with EHU. This easily accommodated our Diablo 600 and car
The site itself is slightly sloping at the top but seems to level out towards the bottom. The children's play area is well maintained was very popular with the children. There is ample grass area to run around in.
The toilet block is excellent and the showers are large with a storage system to stop your clothes getting wet.
The shop is small and a bit expensive but there is a Spar about 0.5 miles towards Woolacombe and a Tesco in Ilfracombe.
The on-site take-away sell very good home cooked food, not just the usual fried thing and chips, and I would strongly recommend it. There is a pub at the end of the lane which provides a carvery as well as bar food. You can walk to it but you will need to walk down the road as there is no pavement. The walk takes approx 10 minutes.
There is a fishing lake which seemed quite popular although not my sort of thing.
Woolacombe beach is a 5 minute car journey away. Miles and miles of sand, great surf and a stream which kept our kids happy for hours. All day parking is £4 or £5 depending on how close to the beach.
If we visit this area again I would definitely consider staying there again.
