The harbour at Ilfracombe

The harbour at Ilfracombe

Ilfracombe offers plenty to do for all the family. Once in Ilfracombe, there is no real need real for your car, there are a number of attractions within walking distance including Ilfracombe Aquarium, Tunnels Beaches, Ilfracombe Museum, Larkstone Leisure Park and Chambercombe Manor - reportedly one of the UKs most haunted houses.

For entertainment, there are a large number of pubs and restaurants, the nearest cinema is in Ilfracombe for those wet weather evenings. There are numerous events and festivals throughout the year, many based on the quayside at the historic harbour and at the prestigious Landmark Theatre on the seafront, which should be reopening soon.

Booked this this site due to positive reviews and it didn't disappoint!

Arrived for a long weekend just as the sun came out and it never stopped shining! As you enter the campsite you are greeted with a fabulous view of the Welsh coastline in the distance, this also provides the spectacular sunsets.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful and guided us to our pitch. The pitch was huge with electric hookup close by and backed onto newly planted woodland, bearing in mind that the rain had been continuous for some weeks prior to our arrival the site was draining well with only a few really 'boggy/muddy' areas which the owners had obviously made attempts to remedy. After a couple of days the entire site seemed to have dried out.

The reception shop was well stocked with essentials milk etc. , and a few camping bits - we bought and extra groundsheet and didn't seemed to be over priced. The toilet and shower blocks were fantastic, huge showers big enough to fit the whole family in if need be, with lots of storage space to put your bits and pieces, lots of lovely hot water. Kept clean to a very high standard. Only had to queue once at peak time and that was only for a few minutes- anyway it gives you a chance to chat to your neighbours.

There was a children's' play area which although not massive had enough to keep the 12 and under occupied. What we really liked about this site was that it appeared to be 95% camping and very few caravans, it was full of families which generated a lovely atmosphere.

There are some lovely walks to go on and as I said the views are spectacular. The location is only 5mins drive from Woolacombe bay or you can walk to Rockham bay or Mortehoe

The only criticism (and it is a minor one at that )is that there is still access for campers to return very late at night to their pitch in their cars and we had a few 'wake up calls' from rowdy returnees and slamming car doors.

It is not the campsite for you if you want entertainment and lots to do for older kids on site etc., but if you want some where safe and spotlessly clean with a lovely atmosphere then this is the site for you!

We loved it so much we are returning before the summer is out!

Country Gal

Top facilities!

Probably the best campsite we have been to. Unfortunately we packed up early due to the horrendous weather conditions, but we will certainly be back. The staff are friendly, the shop well stocked but could have more variety of meat and dairy products. The showers and toilets are top spec and makes showering in a 'strange' place comfortable. Its lovely and peaceful and just what you need if you are looking for a chilled out and relaxing few days away.

Warcombe Farm Camping Park:
Yvonne it was a shame that you decided to leave early due to the weather. We try our very best to stock all the essential goods and more! But with such limited space available we will not always have what everyone needs. We are pleased that you had a chilled relaxing few days with us.
