Midland Centre Caravan Club
We have spent 2 weeks at this delightful site. The site is superb, lovely big pitches. Staff are really friendly, facilities next to none, couldn't wish for better. If you have a dog the dog walk is one of the best. Loads of walks in the area.
Just one gripe, it would be nice if the 5 miles an hour rule was upheld. Our rating would have been 5/5 if it had not been for the speed mongers creating dust clouds. We shall definitely return and recommend to others.
Luxury welcomed us
After wild camping in our VW for 3 nights we decided to treat ourselves to a campsite for 1 night, after doing a quick Google search Warcombe farm popped up and so off we headed.
Now bearing in mind our camper van looks like something that has been vandalised by graffiti artist, we were welcomed by the staff and nothing was too much trouble. This site is extremely well kept with clearly marked pitches and facilities.
The shower blocks are total bliss, with under floor heating and exceptionally clean. Security is top notch with a barrier system. Little shop is well stocked with essentials. Highly recommended, many thanks for a short but very pleasant stay,
Fantastic family site
Took my four children (2-13) single handedly to Warcombe Farm last week on a whim and I have to say it was a great experience.
This is a lovely, safe family site and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. On our stay we were lucky enough to have a tree enclosed small field almost to ourselves where my 2 year old was able to wander around safely, so I didn't have to constantly wonder where she was as I tried to prepare for the day.
This is a very clean and well kept camp site - great showers, a nice play area and a well stocked shop made for a most pleasant stay.
Many thanks to all at Warcombe Farm for your patience in answering my endless questions about the area and for making our trip a lot less stressful than it could have been! Keep it up!
Our favourite campsite!
Just home from a four night stay at Warcombe Farm. This was our third stay in the last couple of years and the site is still as fantastic as it was when we first stayed. The staff are extremely welcoming and the facilities are outstanding.
The site is perfect with plenty of space and privacy and it's extremely well kept, it's location is brilliant for exploring North Devon.
We have stayed at lots of campsites over the years but Warcombe Farm remains our top one.
Looking forward to next years trip already!
We have just returned from a 5 day stay with 3 young children (10, 8 and 4) and we have had a fantastic stay at Warcombe Farm campsite. The site is idyllic and peaceful and the amenities are simply top notch!! We enjoyed the daily delivery of fresh rolls and bread in the morning, to the daily evening delights of different cuisines brought to site by local chefs.
The kids had a fantastic time onsite and the walks and surrounding area's make this a very special place to camp.
A big thanks has to go to Glynn the onsite warden for his daily catch-up and friendliness!! The misses loved the wicker basket as-well :o)
We will absolutely return again as we fell in love with the place and the surrounding area which is simply stunning!!
10/10 for the camp site and the way the onsite staff manage your stay!!
Still outstanding after 8 years of coming here!
We have just returned from our annual pilgrimage to the outstanding Warcombe Farm. It really does spoil things for every other campsite around, as we can't help but compare pitch size, layout, privacy, cleanliness plus the warm and welcoming staff who seamlessly make this a truly wonderful place to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing break.
The on site shop is small, but comprehensive and is very competitively priced and stopped us having to go to the supermarket once or twice.
There are takeaway food vehicles, which change daily. We were lucky to sample The Cauldron on the Monday (curry) and Friday (Mexican), it was cooked on site and was so fresh and tasty we just wish they were local to us here.
The toilets and free, hot showers are immaculate and frequently cleaned, something we are very particular about, and you can choose between family shower wet rooms or individual cubicles.
There are plenty of washing up areas, again immaculately clean and with plenty of hot water.
The spacious pitches are well laid out with many having spaces in between where the grass is allowed to grow longer with wild flowers and small trees, allowing for a greater degree of privacy.
There are plenty of hard core pitches and just grass pitches to suit all tastes and requirements, some fully serviced, others with hook ups or nothing.
There is a small fishing lake which is well used and a well maintained play area with zip wire away from campers. There are many beautiful walks, including the coastal path, straight from the campsite. Woolacombe, Mortehoe and Lee are all within striking distance.
Thank you to all the staff for their warm welcome, hard work and helpfulness; we look forward to seeing you again next year.
best campsite I have ever stayed at
We have just spent may half term week at Warcombe farm. It is a lovely site - beautifully well kept, friendly and welcoming, spacious, quiet and in a great location.
The pictures on their website seriously undersell how nice the site is - we were on a pitch right at the bottom of the site with a panoramic view of the sea that I had no idea about before we arrived!
There are pitches for everyone - choose a sea view or a hidden private pitch in a grassy glade or a grass pitch with loads of room for the kids to run around or one of the numerous very high standard hard standings, or a pitch around the lake.
The toilet blocks are excellent - clean and modern, lots of showers, lovely hot water and underfloor heating. The family shower rooms are so nice that after a rather cold wet day on the beach I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a shower so much!
Everything about Warcombe farm is well designed and makes staying there easy - the large washing up sinks with drainers on both sides and plenty of hot water, Wifi, hire a picnic bench, several washing machines and dryers etc. The 'dog walk' is actually a long, wide, beautiful sweep of mown grass with picnic benches, surrounded by newly planted native trees and with, of course, that panoramic sea view.
The fishing lake was a big hit with everyone - all the kids managed to catch several fish.
Thank you Warcombe farm for a fantastic week. We will be back.
We stay here every year. Lovely people and a very well kept site. Well planted with trees and shrubs. Facilities are fantastic especially if you go early and late season the showers and toilet seat are warm and clean.
Warcombe Wardens Welcoming
We attended Warcombe over the BH weekend. What a beautiful, tranquil location especially for dogs. It was not only a delight to be welcomed by a lovely female in reception, Gloria but had the assistance of her husband Glyn to pitch us. A very helpful person, who appears to go that extra mile with recommendations of places to visit but just his general approach to not only our family but witnessing his extravert ability to socialise with others.
Definitely will be back and recommend to friends and family. 5* treatment. Thank you.
Loved this site - will return
Stayed at this site in April 2014. Booked an extra large tent pitch, it was huge and easily swallowed an 8 man tent, 2 cars and a picnic table with plenty of space to spare. The site is flat throughout and most of the tent pitches are secluded with trees / shrubs between each pitch, giving some privacy.
Toilet and shower block appears to be a recent build, is well maintained with underfloor heating and is spotlessly clean. Plenty of WC's and spacious shower cubicles. Showers are hot. There is also an indoor washing up station (4 sinks) and laundry with driers.
Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Without doubt the best camp site we have ever stayed at. We are already planning to return this year.
Nearest pub is the Fortescue arms, about 0.7 mile, gets great reviews but lacks charm. However a better option, for the more adventurous is to leave the park at the northern end, walk down the lane and take the footpath on your right, down a steep wooded glade, along a stream for a about a mile until you reach the village of Lee where you will find the Grampus Inn serving good food in great surroundings. (It's a long walk back uphill- not recommended in the dark). Also recommend the Ship Aground in Mortehoe.
Friendly and Naturally Spacious
We stayed here with a VW Campervan for a few days surf trip. The people that run the place are nice and friendly. We arrived late and were able to park and stay on the grounds before finding our pitch the next day. The shower rooms and toilet facilities were excellent - nice, roomy and warm showers. And leaving for the day and coming back was easy-going. Great times.
Wonderful Warcombe Farm !!!
We have not long come back from an extended 9 nights stay at Warcombe Farm. Originally chose due to all the great review and we were so please we chose this site. My 2 daughters ( 3 and *8 ) loved it so much.. they spent a day fishing in the lake and loved feeding the ducks that live on there every morning.. such a peaceful site no noise at all 11pm which was what we were looking for.. the on-site shop is very handy and also the family shower blocks were great for us all to get in..the site its so clean and spotless !!
The staff area very friendly and always had a smile and wave for us... on out first day Paul even gave myself and the kids a lift to the loos on his golf buggy !!
The site even has a bath!!
Pitches are great and vary depending on what you are after some a very large and secluded. We had pitch 186 in a close of bays almost... very large !
Woolacombe and the area is lovely we had great weather too !! Found lovely Lee bay worth a visit great rock pools and the tide goes out in the afternoon that time of year to reveal a lovely sandy beach.. would def 100 % go again !! you wont be disappointed Big Thanks to Warcombe Farm see you soon !!
I cannot recommend this site enough... not for you noisy campers though!!
Great site - will return
I recently stayed for 2 nights with my son and was very impressed. Shower block has a family bathroom - with a bath! Toilet blocks all warm and spotless. Pitch massive with privacy from trees/bushes. Staff all friendly and helpful. We will be back!
A gem of a site with the most helpful team!
I guess the problem is with a 5 star review of this wonderful site is that it will become more popular and then we won't be able to book!! That's just me being selfish. So, what about the site? Well, it's a lovely place, not overly big but generous in terms of pitch sizes for touring tents and vans. From the friendly welcome to then being guided to your pitch, everything here is just brilliant.
You have a reasonably well stocked shop for emergency essentials, plus good (and importantly) clean on-site showers and toilets in one block. The layout of the site is also very good, featuring a fishing lake in the middle.
The top end of the site features fairly open pitches, grass and hard standing, most serviced with water, waste and electricity whilst lower down on the site, you can choose a more private pitch secluded by trees and bushes. We elected to stay at the top as we wanted to be close to the play area so we could watch the kids having a good time whilst we sat out front keeping a watchful eye.
The staff always seemed happy to help, and to give them extra credit, when our car decided to break down we knew we would have to extend our stay unexpectedly by one night, the team were more than happy to sort us out and would even help to move us if they needed our pitch (as it may have been booked).
Access to the site is pretty good, the last remaining road up to the site is wide enough in most places for cars to get through, but some parts do narrow. The site is literally half a mile up this road, so no great problems there.
So are there downsides to this lovely site? Well, a few minor points.
The 5MPH speed limit was NOT observed by many irresponsible drivers and on a couple of occasions we needed to stop our 5 year old from crossing the track way when cars were coming as they seemed to pay no attention to the children playing in the park and the possibility one could run out (even though the main areas of the park are fenced, the zip wire is not). I think this could easily be rectified by adding speed humps.
Pitches at the top end of the site are much higher up and are obviously prone to the elements including the wind - be prepared to really tie down your tent or awning.
Local ciders - it would have been great to have the shop stock some local West Country ciders or ales. All that seemed to be on offer was Belgian cider and the usual European lagers!
Noise - although not a major problem, the noise does not really subside until at least 11pm, the park seems to be in use quite late (although there was a note to say this was not to be used past dusk) and I know the site wardens are out and about checking noise levels.
A swimming pool would be nice! (Note to the owners: if you are not making any money from the fishing pond there's an idea!!)
All the above points are very minor, and I cannot say enough good things about this site - Warcombe Farm is thoroughly recommended and we hope to return soon.
Warcombe Farm Camping Park:
We always take on board any suggestions offered to us by our campers. Our wardens at around 10.30pm walk the site and ensure that any noise is not excessive as we are aware that people are starting to settle down for the night (but let's not forget that people are on holiday). Our staff are constantly monitoring the speed of the cars around the site and we will consider speed bumps for the future. With regard to the play area, annually we are inspected by a independent play inspection company to ensure we comply with all the necessary requirements.
We look forward to seeing you again next year.
Perfection!! Again and Again
Third time here and again it was perfect. This campsite spoils you completely from the 5 star amenity blocks to the tranquil setting. We love that the site is quiet and is so peaceful in the evenings.
The staff again have been fab, always friendly and going above and beyond for everyone. There is lots do to in the surrounding areas, this time we did the tractor and trailer rice, a 12 mile bike ride, hubby fished on the lake for a couple if days and hubby and son went down to the trout farm near Barnstaple and caught us tea.
We also took a trip to Padstow to sample Rick Steins delights. I would highly recommend.
New additions this time were the different food wagons that came in. All were Fab, stone baked pizzas matched the standards in Italy, Paella from The Cauldron was as nice as what I've sampled in Barcelona and I have to say Miles fish and chips were nicer then Magpies in Whitby!
I'm sure I've missed so much out but I cannot stress how lovely and perfect this site is for couples and families. We love it!!
Thank you for making our holidays full of memories, we are planning next years visits already!
