Excellent campsite; will definitely return.
Loved the really big pitches at this campsite. We were just in front of the play area which was perfect for our 7 year old. Super big family wash-rooms that had under floor heating and were kept very clean and tidy. (With washing machines and tumble dryers in adjacent toilet block).
The site shop is well stocked with friendly helpful staff and also a take-away on site too (not the best in our experience but edible and convenient to say the least)
We took a walk from the campsite down to Lee Bay which was scenic and enjoyable. Great location as so near to lovely Mortehoe but also the fab beaches of Woolacombe, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton.
We would definitely go back to this site as felt it was perfect for our stay.
Warcombe Farm Camping Park:
We are very luck at Warcombe to be in such a beautiful area and it is always lovely to hear that our campers appreciate the beautiful area and park also. We do hope that you visit again so that you can have another perfect stay.
Fab campsite with great amenities
After a long journey with an overnight stop off we arrived at Warcombe on a Sunday afternoon with fog and drizzle.
Very friendly reception staff gave us the details of our pitch and gate code and then told us to move down to the arrival bay and we would be taken to our pitch. Fabulous idea!! A golf cart came and met us and showed us directly to our pitch the gent gave us the information regarding our pitch and pointed out where the toilet and dishwashing facilities were.
What an excellent large pitch with water and electricity and as a bonus the girls were delighted to be very close to the play park.
The rules regarding quiet times were great and most people seemed to adhere to it which made for a very relaxing stay.
We used the on-site takeaway a couple of times for snacks and take away cream teas yummy!!
The site was well maintained and the facilities kept clean and tidy.
The surrounding area is lovely too just couldn't get over the roads around the area some over ground and very narrow single roads.
I would definitely visit Warcombe again and wouldn't hesitate to recommending it to others.
We stayed a week and moved onto another site but wished we had stayed put for out second week!!
Another Great week, Thank You!
Third year running here for us. Stayed near to the play area this time, which was a little noisier as expected, but ideal for us as we didn't need to walk far to find the kids. The park (and the whizz of the zip wire) has its quiet times which are adhered to.
The site was once again immaculate throughout - probably the best toilet/shower facilities I have used anywhere - and the staff were friendly and attentive. Captain Hooks on site café was a nice add-on this year. Convenient for a lazy breakfast, but we did miss the variety of evening meal foods which were available from the various mobile food vans visiting the site each evening in 2014/15. Didn't really feel the food at Captain Hooks offered great value (£14 for 3 breakfast baps) but it was decent quality and obviously very convenient.
We did buy fresh pastries from reception in the morning which were tasty. Well done Warcombe Farm once again. Another great stay and we will be back again soon.
This is the second year running at Warcombe and it was just as brilliant as last year. The scenery is breathtaking and so clean,
The people who run and maintain the site are so friendly and helpful and make the campsite what it is.
Plenty of walks a mile from Woolacombe beach which is is also a great place to spend the day but I would defiantly recommend this campsite to everyone X.
Lovely clean facilities
Stayed here for three nights with a group of friends. We had a lovely big pitch which was edged with trees/bushes to separate it from the others around us. The campsite had a lovely feel about it and friendly too.
When we arrived the lady in reception was friendly and welcoming. We were shown to our pitch by one of the male staff members who was helpful and friendly. We booked a picnic bench which was a great bonus for us to eat outside and sit out in the sun (we were lucky with the weather and only had rain during one of the nights) we were a little walk away from the facilities but it didn't bother us, in fact we liked it as it was less busy and quieter where we were.
The showers were great, big cubicles, with ample shelving and a bin. They were clean and temperature was right. The toilets were clean too, especially as height of season they we kept well.
Loved the wetsuit washing area which was perfect for us to get our suits and shoes rinsed off. On one of the nights there was a power cut in the whole area but the backup generator was put on quickly and were informed by a member of staff outside the facilities.
We walked in the meadow area which was great and joined onto the coastal path. There was also a lake for fishing, children's play area, a small shop, takeaway and a free herb garden. Would stay here again, a great find!
This campsite is truly wonderful. Had a superb spacious pitch. The toilet blocks are immaculate whatever time of day, never had to queue despite the site being full. Captain Hook's Shack is great especially for breakfast.
Dog walk is the best we've seen and a lovely walk takes you to Mortehoe.
We will definitely be back and have earmarked some pitches should the pitch we stayed on not be available. Staff are really friendly too.
Thanks for a wonderful holiday.
Where shall I start?! We are a family of 4 with 2 children ages 7 and 4.
The campsite has stunning views and has to be one of the best sites we have stayed on for facilities.
The showers and toilets were always clean and never had to queue despite it being the night of the season.
We only had a takeaway once and it was Chinese night, it was fabulous. Myself and my husband had the Chinese and the children had a chicken burger. We were pleasantly surprised that the chicken burger was a plain chicken breast on a roll ( not a pre bought dodgy burger!)which was perfect for our 2.
The play area was great for the children, again one of the best we have seen on a campsite.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and always acknowledged us and stopped to speak to the children.
The only negatives which are of no reflection on the site itself are: the distance to the beach, but this can easily be overcome. The first day we attempted to walk it along sandy lane and via Woolacombe bay holiday park. It was fine going took about 40 mins would have been a lot quicker but our little boy was just having 'one of those days'. coming back we decided to try the route coming back through Twitchen holiday park. It was tough as it was an incredibly hot day and we were all tired after spending all day on the beach. We got as far as Twitchen and then stopped for an Ice cream and my husband walked the rest and went and got the car to pick us up. The following day we enquired in the site shop and they gave us details of the bus, fantastic!!! It stopped right outside the site. They don't run regularly so you do have to work out your timings but well worth it!
I wouldn't allow the distance of the site from the beach deter you if you have young children as the site is definitely worth it and the bus is easy enough. You can park in Woolacombe but it's expensive and you need to get there early!
The only other slight negative which again is no reflection on the sure is it is exposed and can therefore be very windy at night. Quite bad at times but we have experienced this at other sites in Devon it's just what camping is about!
The woodland walk was fantastic too and a great idea.
Overall a fantastic break and a fantastic camping site with fantastic facilities and staff. Would definitely recommend it and would definitely go back.
This is a lovely campsite - spent a week there on 2 premier sites with friends. First campsite I've been to with a tap on each pitch. toilet blocks are great, underfloor heating and individual cubicles with shelves and hooks so you can get dressed easily.
Family shower block has about 6 rooms which have shower, toilet, sink and mirrors, great if you have smaller children.
They make fresh croissants and other baked goods every morning, they go quickly though, but are lovely when warm and fresh out of the oven!
There's a lake which you can fish on, and a lovely woodland walk. Its also big enough for the children to ride their bikes around and actually have fun!
Good washing and washing up facilities too... actually I don't think I can find fault with it! :)
There is a little bistro/takeaway there as well, but we didn't use it.
Mortehoe is a couple of miles up the road and has a few places to eat!
Excellent site and staff
Fantastic location and site. Staff very helpful and friendly (thanks for the fishing tips Glyn). Only slight down side is small shop with limited provisions (fresh pastries lovely). Missed out on the stone baked pizzas which looked excellent as missed advertising for them. Would happily stay again. Thank you.
Charlotte and Steve
Lovely campsite. Really well maintained. Wardens are always helpful and friendly. Really well stocked shop. Captain Hook's shack has lovely food if you want a change from bar b q food.
Facilities are great - best showers! Lovely walks on the farm land which is being developed to a wild meadow. Forest school on site for something different for the kids. Situated perfectly to get to Woolacombe, Croyde and Putsborough beaches.
Have just got home from 2 nights here. The weather was horrendous but we still had an amazing time due to this being such a great campsite!
Very dog and family friendly which we loved staff very welcoming and very friendly! Excellent pitches! We will deffo be back very soon!!
Probably the best campsite we have been to. Unfortunately we packed up early due to the horrendous weather conditions, but we will certainly be back. The staff are friendly, the shop well stocked but could have more variety of meat and dairy products. The showers and toilets are top spec and makes showering in a 'strange' place comfortable. Its lovely and peaceful and just what you need if you are looking for a chilled out and relaxing few days away.
Warcombe Farm Camping Park:
Yvonne it was a shame that you decided to leave early due to the weather. We try our very best to stock all the essential goods and more! But with such limited space available we will not always have what everyone needs. We are pleased that you had a chilled relaxing few days with us.
Our first point of contact with Warcombe Farm was my telephone enquiry to make a booking. It was handled efficiently and instantly gave a feeling of confidence that this was going to be a good place to stay.
On arrival at reception we where made welcome and swiftly dealt with by the ladies in reception then passed over to one of the campsite wardens who we followed in his buggy to our pitch. The pitches are well cared for with enough space to make it feel your own. My wife and I are in our mid 50s and are basic campers in a small tent so we had ample room. We hired a picnic table which was reasonably priced and made cooking and preparing food a lot easier.
The site itself is very well maintained. The toilet blocks are immaculate and roomy. We never waited for a shower.
There is a small fishing lake in the middle of the site which is well fenced and safe. It is also full of fish so catching isn't difficult making ideal for beginners looking to learn.
Well behaved dogs are allowed. We are not dog lovers but I realise that people are and not once did we see any animals running around off the leash and also we never encountered any dog mess. At the far end of the site there is a woodland walk and dog walk. Again immaculately kept and again mess free with lots of dog waste bins provided.
The small camp shop was well stocked and reasonably priced for essential needs. We didn't use the laundry or take away service but the menu looked decent and again fairly priced. There isn't much more I can say here. The staff on-site where extremely polite, helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make our stay a lovely experience.
At evening the noise levels where low and the sound of children having fun or people having a BBQ and chatting and laughing created a very pleasant atmosphere with noise levels dropping after around 11pm.
I think it is fair to say if you want a rowdy camp club, swimming pool, dogs running round and lots of screaming and shouting then this isn't for you. If you want a relaxing peaceful pleasant holiday the book here. The only minor thing I would add is that it might be worth asking for a pitch near the toilet block as some are a little bit of a walk maybe up to 200m max but as I say that is a very minor thing.
Also bear in mind that although the beaches are walkable there are no pavements and it is quite steep. There are buses which the staff will give you timetables.
Thank you for a lovely holiday we will recommend and would come back.
Fantastic stay at this great campsite, very friendly and extremely helpful staff. It was our first time with a caravan and everyone was very helpful. Good sized pitches, great play area for the kids, fishing lake and a wonderful woodland walk for the dog. All the facilities were always very clean.
Stayed for 11 nights and had a great holiday, will definitely stay again next year and would highly recommend it!
Warcombe Farm Camping Park:
We are so very pleased that all of the family had a lovely stay with us (including the dog). All our staff try very hard to be helpful and offer advice that they may have gained over the years. We look forward to seeing all your family again.
Camping near Mortehoe
Excellent facilities - hot water, clean and spacious shower block. Each shower cubicle well designed and roomy with shelves to keep clothes dry. Camp Shop stocking essentials, take-away food available. Flat pitches, well kept and plenty of dividing shrubs and trees. Fishing lake.
Only downside is that it is quite a long walk to village of Mortehoe. You can go via footpaths which is slightly longer, otherwise walk includes busy narrow road with no pavement.
Warcombe Farm Camping Park:
Tina as you have pointed out one of the routes to Mortehoe is by using the narrow road, but we do sell a local map for £2.00 that shows a variety of alternative beautiful routes. We do take great pride in the standard of our facilities and it is always very pleasing when we receive excellent feedback. Thank you.
