Well here we are folks, already nearing the end October and the final week of our 2024 Season! How did that come around so soon?! It has been a strangely quiet year for us and indeed the whole area. We’ve missed the usually buzz! It has been lovely to see you guys, however, from the familiar faces of our longstanding regulars to new ones who will hopefully visit us again and soon become old friends!  Warcombe is a little bit addictive you know, once we have you, we don’t like to let go! The site has looked particularly splendid with our Grounds Team having worked incredibly hard all year. We hope you noticed the changes here and there!  The children had great fun over Summer and kept us highly entertained with their quips and antics. They are certainly growing up fast (or are we just getting old!!). We all enjoyed taking part in the Mortehoe Scarecrow Festival in August, it was such a hoot!. Did you meet our entry? It’s still been a wonderful vibe around Warcombe despite the lack of crowds! Our local Tourist Information Office and also The National Trust Rangers pull out all the stops, year after year, to ensure there are plenty of exciting things for you to do when you come to North Devon on holiday. We are very grateful to them for their efforts and of course to Parkin Estates who strive to keep our beaches so pristine. A huge thanks to all concerned.  We say a sad goodbye, albeit temporarily, to the smashing chaps at Beachcomber Cafe. The old building is being demolished in the near future to make way for a more glamorous new one! Good luck with the project, can’t wait to see the new place! Exciting news for us too next year in that we have recently become members of the iconic road trip scheme, SW660. This is set to give the NC500 in Scotland a run for it’s money! The route  extends along the south west coast from Watchet to Poole covering the five glorious counties of Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset!  We are also now a Way Marker site for the South West Coast Path Association. This means that we can stamp your passport here at Warcombe if you’re walking our section of the Coast Path and camping with us! We are likely to see an increase in visitors to North Devon following the World Movie Premier of Raynor Winn’s ‘Salt Path’, set for release in the UK next April. Hopefully this will put us firmly on the map! Have you read the book? It looks like a good Winter read if not!  But, for now, we are starting the slow wind down to our closing date on the 31st. We would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support this year. We hope you will stick with us on Social Media over the Winter months. We’ll try and cheer you up with some sunny photos, happy memories and you can see what we’re all up to over the colder months! Already looking forward to seeing you next season! Booking lines will, of course, remain open and you can call us with any queries. Be sure to book your favourite pitch before it’s snapped up and remember, our Gift Vouchers make excellent Christmas stocking fillers!  Bye for now dear Campers, much love to all – Team Warcombe
