campsite!<\/strong><\/p><p>Situated near <strong>Ilfracombe and close to Woolacombe.<\/strong> There\u2019s a bit of a trek if you stay in some parts of the camping \/ tent field, but it\u2019s worth it when you see the views at the top!<\/p><p>Super deluxe shower block with heated floor and ample room for everyone! Fishing pond was great, lots of beautifully kept fish.<\/p><p>The views were fantastic and the staff were really friendly.<\/p><p>Shame the campsite wasn\u2019t nearer to the town centre (Woolacombe \/ Ilfracombe) as I don\u2019t think you could walk to either, but there was a bus route which was quite good. Sizes were good (we have a Vango 800 DLX) and well marked. Some pitches amongst small trees and bushes but there is competition for these!<\/p><p><b>Staff:<br \/><\/b>Friendly, helpful and always around doing something cleaning, mowing etc etc.<\/p><p><b>Facilities:<br \/><\/b>A small fishing lake sits in the middle of the site and was popular with anglers.<br \/>Absolutely the best hot showers I have ever come across. Very, very good washing, toilet, and washing up facilities.<br \/>The shop is on the small side and can quickly run out of essentials like bacon and eggs so go prepared.<br \/>The cafe looked ok but we didn\u2019t use it.<\/p><p><b>For Children:<br \/><\/b>Good, new and well maintained play area, laid with bark, fenced and situated in the middle of the site. Walks are excellent so there is loads of space to run. This site is obviously popular with families and so there is no shortage of playmates.<\/p><p><b>Other:<br \/><\/b>This is the best site that I have stayed on in the UK. It\u2019s situated in some beautiful countryside with great access to a lot of places. Walks from the site are good, one especially takes you down through fantastic woods to a small rocky beach with nice hotel and restaurant.<\/p><p>We were there with our 2 boys (3&amp;6) and we would very definitely go back. There is no pool, no club etc etc and it is all the better for it. I read loads of reviews about the toilet block and I can back those reviews up it\u2019s great warm and clean with plenty of hot water. The shower cubicles are not match boxes either, a good size with shelves to keep your clothes dry .. a real credit to the owners.<\/p><p>We use an American 30ft Motorhome and there was loads of room on the fully serviced pitch we were allocated, lots of room to move the motorhome about for perfect position overlooking the lake. The lady on reception let me know that they might create a few more super pitches, over the winter, higher up the site which will help getting a satellite signal!<\/p><p>We enjoyed ourselves so much we will be back again in early July before the big summer rush! The excellent facilities can be a few minutes walk depending on where you pitch as it is a large site, but you can always drive there if you are totally bone idle.<\/p><p>The site staff are very friendly and helpful. I have been there about 15 times in the last year and love it so much.<\/p><p>It has a fantastic new shower block with underfloor heating with free to use showers and also a great restaurant with fantastic meals to offer. This site is perfect and also has a fantastic fishing lake with rod hire available at amazing prices.<\/p><p>The owners, Martin and Christine are great and really do their best for all visitors. As you enter the campsite you are greeted with a fabulous view of the Welsh coastline in the distance, this also provides the spectacular sunsets.<\/p><p>The reception staff were friendly and helpful and guided us to our pitch. The pitch was huge with electric hookup close by and backed onto newly planted woodland, bearing in mind that the rain had been continuous for some weeks prior to our arrival the site was draining well with only a few really \u2018boggy\/muddy\u2019 areas which the owners had obviously made attempts to remedy. After a couple of days the entire site seemed to have dried out.<\/p><p>The reception shop was well stocked with essentials milk etc. , and a few camping bits \u2013 we bought and extra groundsheet and didn\u2019t seemed to be over priced. The toilet and shower blocks were fantastic, huge showers big enough to fit the whole family in if need be, with lots of storage space to put your bits and pieces, lots of lovely hot water. Kept clean to a very high standard. Only had to queue once at peak time and that was only for a few minutes- anyway it gives you a chance to chat to your neighbours.<\/p><p>There was a children\u2019s\u2019 play area which although not massive had enough to keep the 12 and under occupied. What we really liked about this site was that it appeared to be 95% camping and very few caravans, it was full of families which generated a lovely atmosphere.<\/p><p>There are some lovely walks to go on and as I said the views are spectacular.
