enjoy a fishing holiday. We are one of only a few North Devon camping parks to offer a private coarse fishing lake for the exclusive use of our guests.<\/p><p>We first established our fishing lake at Warcombe in 1998. It has proved hugely popular and provides great sport and entertainment for all the family. The lake is well stocked with Carp, Tench, Roach and Rudd as well as Perch. The water occupies around an acre of land and is a haven for wildlife and waterfowl.<\/p><p>Even if you are not a fisherman you can still enjoy the beautiful vista, watching the amazing variety of birds that can be seen around the water. Heron, Snipe and Kingfishers are spotted regularly, not forgetting our rather comical resident ducks! We have superb lakeside pitches, both grass and hardstanding , with their own private gated access to the water, so you can relax, picnic or get out your rods and cast out!<\/p><p>The park has a general fishing licence so you only need to purchase a day ticket from reception in order to fish the water from dawn to dusk. Equipment hire is available and we encourage children to learn under the supervision of a competent adult.<\/p><p>Some of our fish are very large \u2013 carp are 15 \u2013 20 lbs in weight. We love posting pictures of your catches on our website. We hire out fishing rods so you don\u2019t even have to worry about transporting equipment! Our shop sells tackle spares and a variety of bait. All prices quoted are per rod.<\/p><p>In the local area there are plenty of opportunities to experience sea fishing too. Fisherfolk can be seen casting from the beaches and pier. Ilfracombe is only 5 miles away and there are lots of organised fishing trips available from the harbour. Warcombe Farm Camping and Caravan Park has its own coarse fishing lake, open only to guests. It is well-stocked with Carp, Tench, Rudd and Roach.\n\nWe have our own General Fishing Licence, which covers usage by our guests \u2013 a personal fishing licence is not required, you only need to buy a day ticket from us.\n\nIf you do not have your own fishing rod, we have equipment available for hire from our own site shop. Whether you are a keen enthusiast, or an absolute beginner, why not have a go? For the welfare of the fish, beginners must be supervised.\n\nWe can offer serviced Fisherman\u2019s Pitches \u2013 situated next to the lake, with private direct access to the water.\n\nSea fishing \u2026 the coast is never very far away, deep sea fishing trips leave from Ilfracombe Harbour throughout the season, we would be pleased to advise.\n\nThe use of the fishing lake is exclusively for our guests. A general rod licence is held which covers the site \u2013 therefore you only need to buy a ticket from reception to fish the water. Glyn is a fishing expert and you\u2019d be wise to listen to his advice. We caught about 70 fish in the well stocked lake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did fish most days and should you need any tips or advice then give Glynn a shout and he will tell the best spots and might even let you know his secret baits \u2013 all tried and tested with Julie who this year did manage to beat last year\u2019s record of the smallest fish ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou get private access to the lake so can fish right next to your van. The weekend was designed around fishing which turned out to be very successful! Any keen fishers give it a go, the lake is flooded with carp and tench and we caught about 50 carp over the 2 days. Brilliant all round!\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cAn excellent lake overly stocked with fish aplenty for the fishermen.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cOur spot was overlooking the lake, so good for fishing. The site is great all round and location.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cThere is a small fishing lake in the middle of the site which is well fenced and safe. It is also full of fish so catching isn\u2019t difficult making ideal for beginners looking to learn.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cFishing is available too which was great, as you could hire the rod and basic kit from the on-site store. One of the wardens \u2013 Glyn, I think, was really helpful and showed the children how to fish and nothing was too much trouble for him. We joined up with two other families and really enjoyed ourselves.
